Visceral Manipulation encourages the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera (internal organs) and their connective tissues. It uses very gentle movements to potentially improve the functioning of individual organs, the systems the organs function within, and the structural integrity of the entire body.
As an example, internal scars from abdominal surgery may cause restrictions in physical movement, or dysfunction of the cardiac sphincter at the top of the stomach may result in acid reflux.
Where appropriate, I use VM techniques to identify and facilitate normal function and movement.
