Bowen Therapy on Upper back

What should you do after a Bowen Therapy treatment?

Many people feel immediately more relaxed after a treatment, and often in less pain. However, Bowen facilitates the body to heal itself, and this can take some time. For example, if you cut your finger, it will take a few days to heal. Similarly, you may not notice the effects of Bowen Therapy immediately – sometimes it might be the next day, or even 3 or 4 days later.  This is the reason why we ask that you don’t have any other sort of physical therapy for 4 or 5 days after receiving Bowen: it allows you to get the most out of your treatment.

We recommend you drink more water following treatment. Hydration helps fascia and cells regenerate and heal. We also recommend that you move frequently – get up and walk around regularly, rather than just sitting for the rest of the day.

Other things we will suggest include that you avoid twisting movements (including vacuuming the floors and crossing your legs) and strenuous activities for the rest of the treatment day. Again, this is to help you to get the best benefits from your treatment.
