Relaxation and Stress Reduction

Bowen facilitates the body to relax the sympathetic nervous system (flight, fright or freeze) and allow the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) to work.

This allows you to fully relax and reduce stress and anxiety.  People also report feeling less light-headed or “spaced out” and more “grounded” after a treatment.

Injuries

Bowen Therapy encourages the body to heal itself.  We not only perform moves on the injured body part, but also on other areas of the body that may have also been impacted.  For example, a sprained ankle that makes you limp will also affect the knee, hips, other leg and potentially your back.  Bowen will address all of these areas.

Other Conditions

Bowen Therapy has a number of protocols specifically designed to help with some specific conditions.  For example, Bowen moves over the nerves over the nerves running through the temporomandibular joint (TMJ – the jaw) can have a positive effect on medical conditions such as Bell’s Palsy.  Similar treatment protocols exist for bed wetting, infertility, scoliosis and frozen shoulder.
